Dropless Cataract Procedure
Drops Post Cataract Surgery
With conventional or laser-assisted cataract surgery, topical medication is used to prevent inflammation and infection before and after the cataract procedure. Typically three bottles are used starting the day after the procedure and tapered over four weeks.
Dropless Post Cataract Surgery
In 2016, Dr. Emara was the first ophthalmologist in Ontario to offer Dropless Therapy which can significantly or totally eliminate the need to administer eye drops pre or post cataract surgery.
This is a single, injectable intraocular dose that is administered during the actual cataract procedure. Dr. Emara will inform you if you are a candidate for this elective option.
